Shards 4 is now available directly from the printer here. You can order as many copies as you want at cost! This link will always be available, so feel free to order now or wait till later!

Shards volume 3 is now available for order! You can purchase a copy of the book by going to this link. You can also find this link on the side bar to the right. If you missed ordering Shards 3 when we sent the order slips home 2 weeks ago, then this is now  the only way to get it. Let me repeat that. If you want a copy of Shards 3 you must order it through this site.

Because I missed you…

You may have noticed that I wasn’t at class this Friday. The flu kept me home. Hopefully you all got some work done. I’ll be expecting to see it next week. take some time this week to work on your ongoing projects and comics. We have a lot of time, but it’s never too soon to get some serious work done. If you need help or advice, remember that you can post here or contact me at jake-richmond@hotmail.com.

Extra credit: For those of you interested in a challenge, I’d like to put together a special monster book. After watching a bunch of great monster movies and shows like Godzilla 2000, Cloverfield, The Host, Dragon Wars, Pan’s Labyrinth and Evangelion, I decided it would be cool to put out a little book with a bunch of monster designs. I’ll be drawing some art for this book, and I’m inviting you to as well. If you’re interested, create a totally sweet monster and bring it to class next week. The drawing should fill most of an 8.5×11 sheet of paper (the same kind we use in class) and be in black and white. I’ll take4 all those drawings and produce a monster book, and everyone will get a copy. Sound fun? Here’s one of the monsters I came up with:

2008 Classes start this Friday, the 4th!

Hi. I just wanted to remind everyone that the Fine Art Starts Manga classes start Friday the 4th. We’re doing smaller classes this time, so space is limited.

I also wanted to remind you again that you can order copies of  Shards 2 AT COST from Lulu. Here’s the  link. Our printer has cancelled our book order, so we’ll have to figure out how we’re going to print a large order of Shards books (we will figure it out. Don’t worry). In the meantime, ordering individual copies from Lulu is the only way to get the books.
